What it’s supposed to do: As paraphrased from Sephora’s product description – “”A sweetly tempting array of 16 matte and shimmer shadows scented with real chocolate. This beautiful assortment of chocolate-inspired shades were formulated using real cocoa powder. Encased in a playful chocolate bar tin, the rich selection of the perfect browns, neutrals, and little pops of color appeal to every candy lover.”
The “Good” (for me):
- Seems to work on many skin tones… I tried this on my mother recently and it turned out great even though she was much darker than me. Most of these shades are neutral and basic, but they are GREAT! I was really surprised how well the Salted Caramel turned out – this was kind of an orangey soft brown look that you can see on the outer corners of my eyelids… it is absolutely beautiful!
- Along with Salted Caramel, my absolute favorite shades are Marzipan, Creme Brulee and Champagne Truffle.
- Creamy texture that stayed on really nicely throughout the day!!!
The “Bad” (for me):
- Most pigments were great… BUT I really did not enjoy Black Forest Truffle or Candied Violet… They’re both dark and metallic… I feel that Triple Fudge was just better to work and looked better overall – in terms of adding that darker contrast in your eye makeup. That’s just me though!
ORF (“Other Random Facts”): As I was doing this write-up, I was half thinking to myself how HILLARIOUS and COINCIDENTAL it would be if Too Faced actually made this palette to smell like chocolates… I stopped myself and decided to just test it out. AND WHATDYA KNOW?!!?!? THE THING SMELLS LIKE GODDAMN CHOCOLATES!!! To say the least, I’m impressed. Well done Too Faced.
